You may be curious as to why thrifting has all of a sudden become a ridiculously trendy thing to do.
Well, there are many, many reasons to thrift shop. I have 3 top reasons as to why I thrift – and why you should start thrifting too!
If you want to jump on the thrifting bandwagon, and understand the hype, continue reading.
1. Because Fast Fashion Sucks (and you shouldn’t support it)
For those that need a quick breakdown on what fast fashion is: companies like Forever 21, H&M, and Zara produce mass amounts of clothes every week to keep up with the latest trends. Their clothes are made in sweatshops where their workers are paid very low wages for long hours. most of these clothes are not biodegradable and they end up in landfills.
Point blank fast fashion companies care more about profit than their negative environmental impact or their workers’ conditions. Thrifting is one of the many great alternatives to fast fashion.
2. Because it’s Fun
It’s always an adventure when you go thrifting. You never known what you are going to come across and what pieces you will end up taking home. One of the best, most satisfying feelings is when you have been digging and digging through racks and finally find your new favourite pullover or the perfect pair of vintage jeans.

3. Because it’s Cheap
Walk into the thrift store with a $20 bill and you will come out feeling like a Queen. Everything is super affordable, I promise you can buy 3x as much stuff than from any of those fast fashion stores.
