A refreshing and citrusy smoothie sure to impress your tastebuds! This turmeric lemon smoothie is perfect for summer and warm days!

This turmeric lemon smoothie recipe is filled with nourishing whole food plant based ingredients and Botanica Health’s Turmeric Lemonade powder – because why not!
Base
To achieve the thick and creamy texture we use frozen banana’s and mangoes. These fruits must be frozen in order to create that dreamy thick consistency everyone loves!
Turmeric
Of course I couldn’t put turmeric in the title of this recipe if it wasn’t an ingredient! Because I am also adding Botanica Health’s Turmeric Lemonade powder I only add 1/4 tsp of pure turmeric. Feel free to add more if your heart so desires!

- High in Vitamin C

#1 SOAKING YOUR DATES
In order to create a creamy consistency you need to make sure your dates are soft, and the best way to do that is by soaking them. For best results you would ideally soak them for a couple hours or overnight.
I soaked mine for about 15 minutes and I did have to blend the smoothie for quite a long time, i would recommenced soaking the dates for at least 20-30 minutes or chopping them into smaller pieces instead of adding them in whole.

#2 FReezing the BANANAS
Frozen bananas bring a whole different texture and consistency to smoothie than room temperature bananas. If you’re going for that thick and milkshake-like consistency make sure you are using frozen bananas!
I like to keep a bag of cut up frozen banana in my freezer at all times! 🙂
